I am 25 years old and a single mother to a beautiful little girl. I grew up in Seattle's Central District and South Seattle. I received my training through The National Black Doula Association. I am very passionate about all women experiencing a birth that makes them feel supported and empowered. How a Doula Helps

Doula is a word with Greek origins meaning “a woman who serves.” Today, a doula refers to a labor companion - a trained professional who will provide emotional, physical, and informational support before, during, and after childbirth. A doula does not support the medical needs during labor, but research shows that women need fewer medical interventions when they have a doula by their side.
